I want to buy a TT mobile 5 for my C500 but I want maps for UK and France - TomTom don't yet sell additinal maps so I wanted to know if I purchased the French map version, would I be able to swap maps if I found someone with the UK map? If so, how would it be done? |

Maps are registered to the device ID. You cannot legally swap maps around with "someone" _________________ Lutz

umm yes I had sort of considered this - don't you think though by releasing a sat nav system throughout Europe, but not allowing access to the other European maps it is kind of encouraging piracy? |

Call it what you want, TomTom likes to think of it as a "business model"... _________________ Lutz

Yes i'm amazed by the fact that so many people are out there waiting for this product to materialise and they treat potential customers so badly - when I asked I got an answer that they 'hope' bring out extra maps later in the summer - if I am going to commit to TomTom mobile, i'm going to need more than a 'hope' - I don't understand why they can't sell the maps now - they all exist, they are all offered in their respective countries where they are being marketed. |

I am tempted to say give Tom Tom a miss, but to be honest its highly unlikely you will because the actual software is very good, just be prepared for crap customer service and in my opinion a crap business model, it stands out a mile they have no idea how to treat their existing customers. |
