Map position does not update automatically

I have a Motorola MPX220 operating on Microsoft 2003 software with CoPilot Live installed & updated to 1.0.1.69. I have an Aktronix BT GPS receiver which the phone can see vis BT and CoPilot gets an initial fix. So far so good. When I select 'start driving' on a given journey and move off, the map location doesn't change. I have to go into 'edit trip' and 'start driving' again for the map location to update (which it does instantaneously). Can anyone help me? The baud rate of the BT GPS is 9600.
