In an 'Ideal World' the people posting on Pocket GPS World [sometimes for the first time in desperation] would expect a reply or comment.
Either the 'staff' or 'moderators' would ensure that the question was answered or the member was 'directed' to a more experience member with a similar 'unit'.
13 of the 50 threads prior to this one have no replies!!
One member has posted twice [April 2004 and February 2005] and had 360 viewings with no replies. |

In an ideal world people wouldn't post a general comment in the Garmin Forum! Also, in that same ideal world everyone would know everything about everything, making the education system, knowledge bases, etc., redundant.
I can't speak for the other staff or moderators but if the post is of a technical nature then I will post if I (think I) have something constructive to offer. My knowledge is mainly confined to Navman and Garmin products, although I know a little about Tomtom and much less about most other devices.
If the post is about anything else I will contribute if I know the answer or the fancy takes me.
This is a public forum and as such a lot of advice comes from other users. If you know the answers, feel free to fill in the gaps. :D _________________ Tim |

Thank you for your reply.
My entire comment and posting was not 'general' but Garmin Forum specific.

You will see [by my postings] that I have tried to fill gaps, one with detailed instructions for Garmin iQue users. Many of these users have PM me and we are in 'active' contact by email and PMs. |

My apologies. This wasn't clear from your statement

which indicated the Forum in general, not the Garmin section in particular. Anyway, you are right, there are a lot of posts which go unanswered, too many perhaps. On a personal basis, I'd prefer no replies to my posts rather than one saying "I don't know but I'm sure someone here does".
Moving on to Garmin, which do you have? I have just bought a GPS10 which comes with Que, nRoute and CitySelect V7. It's nice to have colour Garmin maps on a PPC as opposed to the greyscale of my GPS V.
Finally, I have noticed some of your replies; keep up the good work. _________________ Tim |

I use Garmin iQue 3600 for navigation
Garmin eMap for walking [12 hour battery life]
Mapsource 6.5 on the PC giving me the ability to plan routes on the PC and to import my tracks 'to' the PC.
CitySelect Europe v7 on the PC and on both units.
Fugawi on the PC and on the iQue.
I use the Speed Camera database and have converted it for use on the iQue. |
