Hi All,

I have a major dilemma on my hands and would love to employ the help of you guys @ PocketGPS World.

I own a Compaq Ipaq 3850 and I want to purchase a GPS system for it. I started out looking at things like TomTom but after reading users comments on the site, I have decided to go down the more techical route and maybe get something like an Arkon Powered Mount, like I read on SteveG's excellent post.

Unfortunatly I know nothing about the devices that are currently available in the marketplace at the moment and i dont know what is compatible with my PDA.

1. I am running Windows CE 3.0, would it be advisable for me to change it to PocketPC 2002 or 2004?

2. I am not sure how the whole "GPS" thing works in terms of what devices are required. Form what I am aware you have a mount for the PDA, then a reciever, and then software on the PDA itself. Is anything else required?

3. What mount is the best available on the market? Also which 1 offers the best value for money?

4. What software should I purchase for PDA?

5. What reciever should I get? Are some better than others?

6. What additional software should I be downloading from this website?

Finally, Is it better (and cheaper) for me to buy everything seperatly or to buy bundles such as the TomTomNavigator 3.

Any help will be greatly appriciated

Regards,

Belissma

Just to add quickly to the post.

If I purchased something like this

http://www.handtec.com/acatalog/HP_19_Series_Infrared_GPS_Solution_Inc_Mount_.html#a1_21283

would this be everything I would need, except for the maps, which I can download off the net?
