Hi,

I have just bought a BT77 GPS but am having problems getting it to work.

I have paired the device (came up as a serial device on COM5) and can find it on the GPS viewer when i run a scan, how do i get it to talk to TomTom

i cant see the device name in the GPS status menu - what do i use ??
also what baud rate does it use on bluetooth.

also - should the connection port on the tomtom GPS be set to 'bluetooth GPS' or 'COM5' (as it was set above)

when i turned on the BT77 for the first time it flashed green & red for a while and went solid red, now it goes solid red straight away - is this Right ?? i dont know if it is locked or not

thanks in advance

Try TomTom Wirless GPS or NMEAv0183@4800 for device type, COM5 or BT GPS will both work.

I bought an iPAQ1940 and BT77 GPS and had a few problems to begin with.

The BT77(well mine any way). When I first turn on LED1 (green/red) flashes red and then settles down to a one flash/1-2 sec's. LED2(blue) flashes rappidly a few times and then settles down to one flash/sec also.
I believe solid red indicates low battery.

On my iPAQ1940, running the Tomtom GPS program, I set the device to NMEA (4800 or Bluetooth both work OK) and COM5 because that is what the "bluetooth outgoing COM" is set to on the1940.

You also have to get the bluetooth manager to "recognise" the BT77. It comes up as "BT GPS" on the bluetooth connections screen on my 1940. Once you select this the BT77 should start "talking" to your device.

When you then open Tomtom GPS, halfway down the screen on the right you should see a small satellite dish with dots going right to an "arrow" sign. This indicates that the two devices are talking to each other and that data is being sent from the BT77.

Hope it makes sense and helps!
