Tomtom 3 & Dell Axim X5 System

Hi,

I am new to GPS Sat nav systems, and was amazed at just how many systems there are out there.

I have read through many posts on this forum and done some searching on the WWW too. But I am still unsure about what to get and what constitutes a "Good Deal"

What I would like is:

A small-ish Sat Nav syetm that I can use in the car AND for walking/hill climbing etc.

I have found a system that seems to suit my needs and I think it is reasonably priced.

its the £350 one: Tomtom 3 & Dell Axim X5 CF Full In Car/External GPS Voice Navigation & Silver Shield Speaker Mount.

So, is this a good deal?

I think the x5 is quite old, but i'm not sure, there doesn't seem to be a lot of info on it???

Would I be better off with one of the HP systems here: http://www.pdamods.com/products.asp?cat=95

I don't really want to spend more than £400 max, but I don't want to buy a lemon either

Any advise greatly recieved.

The Dell Axim X5 was a fine machine in its day, but it's a couple of years old now.

You pay your money and you take your choice.
