Hi
I am trying to get my POI to display on the navigator view on TTM. I have tried reinstalling TTM and get the following results:
1) Remove all TTM on phone
2) Copy over files for TTM to miniSD
3) Boot phone and TTM installs
4) Start TTM and check navigator view and POIs are there.
5) Install Traffic addon for C500 compatibility
6) Reboot phone as requested
7) Start TTM and all POI disappeared within Navigator view. Check in Map view they are there but not in Navigator view. Can confirm all relevant options are turned on for POI.
This is driving me mad! Anyone help?

Copied TTM over to my Mini-SD card.
Copied the south-east map over to \south-east navigator map on the root of the storage card.
Copied the ov2 and bmp files to the same folder.
Ran Tom Tom, (5-6-5-1) enable POI.
Tick all the pocketgps options you want. Press done.
(4) Warn when near POI. Scroll down to the first pocketgps entry you want. Press select.
Choose the distance, say 300 yards.
Choose a sound, beep 3.
Choose if you only want warnings on route or not.
Press done.
That should be it. Drove home from work with the phone beeping and whistling at me as I approached cameras etc. |

Thanks - but I am not suffering the problem when I set the 'warn near POI' - this works fine. I just expect to see all the other POI such as Petrol Stations, Libraries etc when driivng around. I dont necessarily want to be warned about them just they be visible on the map - as per pre-TTT update. _________________ Audi S4

i posed the same question myself the other day, as a new user of GPS i was not sure what to expect, i was told that the poi's will only show up if there is a warning set to them, which in my opnion is a bit of a bummer. |

especially if you notice before the TTT update is put on they are there! its only after the TTT update is installed do the POI disappear. Bug me thinks with the TTT update! _________________ Audi S4

I emailed TT and they replied with 'c500 are not supported!'. While I understand their reponse, it would be nice to understand if other parties are suffering the same issue when installing the TTT update. Can anyone Symbian or E200 users confirm?

In case anyone is interested here is TT full reply:
With the traffic plug-in installed the application currently switches between two "different" maps. One map is displaying traffic incidents (when traffic is enabled) and another one displaying the regular information, such as POIs and Favourits (when traffic is disabled).
With the traffic plug-in installed you also have 2 different "brows map" views. The regular one in the navigator main menu (2nd page) and another one displaying traffic incidents (in the TomTom Traffic menu).
So in order to visualise POIs in the 2D or 3D Navigator view you have to disable Traffic.
With best regards,

What a ridinkulous solution! :x I worked this out myself a few weeks ago after TT replied with a useless 'C500 not supported' type message.
I'd much rather choose to view the map with POI instead of the map with Traffic icons. I don't need to see them in 3D mode, and it can reroute me around issues without having to look. But when I want a car park in a hurry, I have to go through the disabling traffic procedure! _________________ CJSnet |
