GARMIN2620/MAGELLAN ROADMATE700/NAVMAN650. HELP

I am considering buying one of the above devices for use mainly in Western Europe. I want street level mapping with route selection that can exclude toll roads. Ideally, but not essential, I want a system that can find destinations by longtitude and lattitude.

The views of anyone on the best of the above systems that would meet my requirements would be very much appreciated.

I don't know anything about the Magellan so I'll leave that one out.

You can navigate to coordinates with the Gamin, you can't with the Navman. In my opinion the Garmin also has better maps than the Navman. It uses NAVTEQ maps against the Navman's TeleAtlas.

The Navman doesn't have an internal battery, not sure about the Garmin.

The Navman will handle the $afety camera database b ut the Garmin can only handle 500 waypoints, I think, so that may also be a consideration.

Thank you very much for that quick response. Could I bother you with some more questions about Garmin 2620.

Is there a specific menu in Garmin where you can enter the coordinates. If so where is it?

What do you mean by only 500 waypoints?

How recent is the Garmin software as compared to Navman?

Sorry if these are simple questions but I am a complete novice.

Not made up my mind yet but going for sure to buy one of the mentionated devices.
There is also a new Garmin StreetPilot coming on the market soon, the c320 and c330. maybe you should also consider that option.
When you make your choice (and buy the device), can you let me know about your expiriences?

I have now bought a Navman 650 and will receive it soon. With regard to the posts above I am told by a Navman user that you are able to navigate by log/lat by scanning a map showing the general area where you want to go and then navigating to the coordinates and then saving it as a favourite and then routing to that destination. Does that make sense?

Having looked at the screenshots I believe that the Navman's maps are far better quality than Garmin's and they also appear to be more up to date. I was also unsure about the Garmin 2620 because information on the price of updating maps in future (given that you will probably need to purchase a new micro drive as well as maps) seems a bit imprecise at present. I would have liked the touch screen on the Garmin, and also the mount looks better, but as in life everything is a compromise and I opted for map quality and the views of a Navman 650 user over everything else.
