You need to find louder .wav files for your warnings - or find software on your PC to make the .wav files you're using louder.

just open the sound files in sound recorder on your PC, go to effects and add increase volume (25%) a couple of times till they sound loud enough, save them, and put them back in the PPC |

I am also having same problem as Imran. Using CheckPOI V2.0.2 TomTom volumes are OK. Increased volume on my PC using WavePad but volume on PDA seems hardly any different.
What software do you advise to change volume? Is pitch of sound a factor?
I have added the Siren Sound to the original sound files to try to make them more noticable but with limited success.
