Hi,

As a complete newbie to satnav I am a bit confused by what to buy, my wife has bought me a Dell X50 (it comes with bluetooth etc) for Christmas and i'm looking at adding GPS to it, looking at the options TomTom looks good, but is it worth buying a blutooth unit or just going for a wired one? Does one perform better than the other?

Also, I have been looking around for the answer to this but without success, I am looking to buy tomtom navigator 3 for my PDA, I have been offered TomTom Go software that is cheaper than navigator 3, will it work in my PDA? What is the difference between them both, they both look as if they do the same thing but one is cheaper than the other?

Thanks, look forward to your replies,

taffy

You cannot run the GO software on the PPC, but there is an equivalent called TomTom Navigator 2004.

Be aware that the TomTom GO/2004 software has less features than the TTN3 software, even though it is newer. Depends on how you want to use it.

And there are many reasons why a BT GPS Receiver is a better solution, more choices at where you locate the receiver, ability to run on battery power when away from a vehicle and better sensitivity being just a few Smile

Hi Darren,

Gone for the tomtom bluetooth version on the strength of the review on this site, but thanks for the advice nonetheless.
