HELP Field scouting information software

I have an ipaq. I am looking for a software package to enable me to walk around fields log the gps info on the ipaq and then transfer this info in the form of a .csv file to my home computer. I am also seeking advice on gps receivers for my hp2210! my thoughts were for a cf connection to keep the unit portable. Is their any difference in accuracy between receivers if so which would be the most accurate.

Welcome to the forum.

Most topographical software will allow you to record waypoints and then to export them to your PC.

You can either use a CF receiver (but the CF slot is better used with a memory card) or a BT receiver - the latter gives you more flexibility with receiver placement and energy source.

If you use a BT Data Logger then you don't even need to rely on the topo software to record the waypoints - the receiver can do that automatically.

I would like the ability to record these points as polygons ie to enable areas to be calculated ( to measure areas of fields) could you suggest a program
