Should the SD card come preinstalled with Tomtom ?

I'm getting the red cross on screen

I've tried to intall the software via the usb cable but it stops at the Please connect screen. Even tho the tomtom screen shows its connected

Also what should the sd card switch be set to so I can write to it.

The SD card should be installed with the UK map and software. You only get the red cross when the GO cannot recognise the SD card or there is no card in the slot.

It sounds very much to me as if you have a duff card there. If you have a spare SD card 128Mb or more then you could try installing to that.

I did check the SD card with my card reader and could see the software

Thje SD card was playing up after taking out a few more time it finally booted up. Hoorah

I've now updated to 4.42 Smile

Can add 6 digit post codes now with new pio's

GRRRREAT... can i ask how yo managed to get 6 digit post codes ???? i attempted to give some basic advice on post codes:

i would appreciate help on this matter as it is quite frustrating trying to find street names if you do not know the city properly.
