HELP GR-300 & G2500 Iguidance problems

Help I have a purchased this combo kit from a guy and I can't get it to work.. I have a dell axim x30 624mhz ppc.. I let this thing sit plugged into my car for a couple hrs and it won't obtain a fix. I did a hard reset on my machine and just installed winfast navigator. Went through the motions and I can't get the dev screen to do anything unless I hit that little sync looking button.. then it go's into SIRF mode and starts puttin stuff on the screen, however it will never obtain a lock.. Can anyone offer any advice on what I should try next?
