|
|
Hello,
I have a map that is in the MapInfo format. Is there any possibility to use it or at least convert it to another usable format to be used on PDA with some street routing software? The map I have is not exists in any other formats for this location, so the only choice I have is to do something with this map to be able to use it.
PLEASE help!
Many thanks in advance for any help!
Yours, Maxim. |

Privyet,
Sorry but converting map formats is not something that is possible - the map vendors are not interested in that. There are some open source initiatives for vector maps in GPX format but that's not yet usable.
You can scan in paper maps and use with programs like Ozi Explorer, but those maps will not work for street navigation. _________________ Lutz

Sorry, but I believe you wrong. There are a lot of programs available that can import different vector map formats. Also I saw different converters from one format to another. I decided to ask in the forum to save my time on searching the internet for the right tool to use. But sounds like I know more then you... |

That may well be the case. Let us know if you find a good way to produce street routing maps for your area.
