Have just ordered upgrade from TT2 to TT3. Do I need the latest update 3.03 which is available from Tom Tom? Update was released in June.

Has the Ipaq 2210 issue been sorted with this update?

Do I also need the 3.03 GPS update also?

Thanks.

Andy

Don't you just hate it when you can't get a straight answer! Laughing

Thanks.

Sorry but from my perspective those answers should be Yes, No and NO

iPAQ 2210 still has issues with 3.03 unless you disable POI and the GPS 3.03 is included in the TTN 3.03 file so you don't need both.

There should be some qualification here and also I think that the answer to question 2 should be a 'yes' but with qualification in respect of the type of flash memory used. Tomtom 3.03 and BT works fine with or without POI's on a 2210 if a good quality SD card (Panasonic) or a CF card are used for map storage. If a lesser quality SD card is used, then the problems still exist.

My own view based on personal experience is that careful choice of flash memory is the single most important aspect to 2210 use with a BT receiver.

Hmmm. Looks like I'm going to have to experiment a bit. May wait a week or two as I have a couple of trips planned which I definately need reliable sat nav for. TT2 has been reliable. Took me and a caravan around the wilds of northern highlands with no bother. About 1500 miles in all.

At the moment all my sat nav stuff is on an sd card. Also have a 1gb microdrive fitted. Anyone know is this a more or less reliable storage medium?

incidentally, will avoids placed in TT2 also be transferred into TT3?

Thanks for all the help and advice. Great help.

Andy
