The PocketGPSWorld.com SatNav Expo in Edinburgh 20th May 11:00AM
The team at PocketGPSWorld.com are now in he final stages of preparing for our biggest and best SatNav event. Matt and Mike went to check on the arrangements and exhibition hall on Monday after the Geocaching weekend in the Lake District. Robert arrived yesterday and is pulling the organisation of the event together right now.
We are getting excited about this now. After months of planning it is only a few days away.
We are still getting donations into the Prize Draw from both exhibitors and those companies unable to attend. These include a number of top of the range SatNav systems. The current list of prizes may be viewed here. All proceeds from the draw will go to The Edinburgh Royal Hospital for Sick Children, which I think we all agree is a very worthy cause.
Whilst we were up in Edinburgh we scouted out a location for our Geocaching competition sponsored by Globalsat. This is a simple competition that anyone can enter, and you don't even need a GPS to enter. Click here for more details.

Travelling by car to Edinburgh?
If you are plannining on taking the car to the show in Edinburgh today and are travelling from the West avoid the M8. Mike Alder, Moderator extroadinaire reports that the M8 is a nightmare thanks to road works with delays of well over an hour being reported East bound.
So get your sat nav out and program an alternative route avoiding the M8!

The Edinburgh Showguide
We are currently in the middle of setting up the event in the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, with people flying in from all over the world, some without luggage (in transit somewhere...). We will be burning the midnight oil getting ready for opening the Expo at 11AM tomorrow.
For the first time we have produced an online show guide in Adobe PDF format. This will not be available in printed format, but you can click here to download and print it at your leisure.

The GlobaSat sponsored Edinburgh Geocaching competition
Globalsat are sponsoring a Geocaching competition at the PocketGPSWorld.com Edinburgh SatNav Expo. They have kindly donated one of their new fitness and training GPS devices the GlobalSat GH-601 as a prize in the competition. Click here for details of the Globalsat GH-601.
The competition is open to all attendees of the Event at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange click here for full details of this free to attend event. You do not need a GPS to take part, though it does help.
Full details of the competition will be published in this thread on Friday between 12:00 and 17:00. The competition will close at 2:00PM and the winner will be announced prior to the Prize Draw.
The winner of this competition will be drawn from the correct entries submitted to the GlobalSat stand prior to 2:00PM
