|
|
Hi All, just trying to update the maps on my Streetpilot C510 for the in laws to use in emergencies, they only travel local but always stick to the same routes.
I've tried to update in GE and it says its too big 6.6Gb, tried downloading the 6.6Gb to pc and open basecamp but it transfers to C510 unit but only shows USA map, map info shows ct europe ticked.
Is it possible or am I doing something wrong
I know its an old model but will keep the elderlies out of accident traffic with an ability to reroute with no knowledge of "different" roads
Cheers in advance

Older Nuvi's are having the same problem.
The latest maps are too big.
Some allow a SDCard but reports suggest navigation is slower. Another option is to see if there's another smaller map set that will fit.
I just install UK&I on my test 2599 as Europe won't fit. _________________ DashCam:

Have you tried the old Garmin program "Mapsource" for transferring maps onto that old Garmin device?
For my old Garmin i3 device I use mapsource without any issues transferring maps as long as I don't go over 2gb. |

Thanks for the replies.
It seems I was able to use basecamp and just select a small area of the UK to install onto internal drive of the C510, seems to be working ok at the minute, it might not be a solution to those who need a "whole Country" map. |
