I am sorry to report the very recent, and unexpected, demise of a much-loved and much used feature of my 2460 LMT unit, namely to ability to alter the speed limit value displayed. This has brought about the sudden retirement of a 10 year old favourite, which has been (IMHO) needlessly struck down by Garmin. It will be sadly missed. No flowers, please. _________________ Dabri.

I'm struggling to understand the 'altering speed limit value' means ? _________________ DashCam:

The nuvi 2460 LMT had a feature (I can't add an image) to change the displayed speed limit to allow the user to adjust the value if the nuvi's database is not consistent with reality, for example, when a speed limit is modified by local authorities. The most recent map update, 2023.10, appears to have dealt this most useful feature a death blow.
Besides correcting speed errors I also used it to set more realistic speed limits on roads that I wanted to avoid; narrow lanes, single tracks, etc. - especially for Wales and Devon routing. Nuvi routing for such unsuitable roads seems to default to 60mph!
The "nuvi 2200/2300/2400 Series Owner's Manual" briefly explains this feature on page 27.
Many years ago, when I moved from the 2460 to a different model, I wrote to Garmin (feedback/ideas site) to say that this feature should be used more extensively. It appears to have been an almost unknown feature.
Anyway - sadly missed by me. _________________ Dabri.
