No issues here in downloading over 9GB to my DriveLuxe 51. Will be interesting to see how much Garmin has done during lockdown. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

The latest map update for built in Honda Garmin units is causing buggy behaviour and 5hey have acknowledged a problem.
I think I'll hang off a week or 2, just in case.
I know Honda built in and PND are different animals but .........

I have a Drivesmart 65 and I had a big problem installing the map update. I eventually had to download to my laptop and install from there. However, when booting my unit up it now warns me that 1. Voice recognition files are missing and that I should use Garmin Express to reinstall maps and 2. Maps are corrupt and cannot be used and that I should download the latest maps.
I've done as it said but the two warnings continue to show on my unit on booting up however, GE tells me that all's well and that it's up-to-date. |

Going back through the 'little grey cells' we've had this missing voice recognition error before.
Finding the thread is something else though. _________________ DashCam:

If you haven't downloaded the full map then this affects the working of voice recognition. Installing simply the map from your laptop also doesn't install all the other necessary files that Express installs, including any voice file updates.
Your best way forward would be to remove the maps you installed then run Express again if Express doesn't offer the option to reinstall your map. Even that might not work and you may find you need to master reset your device. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thanks guys. I'm not going to delete and reinstall just yet. I've got three days where I need to use the unit and it there IS a problem, it should appear then.
The issue which caused me to use the 'download to laptop' option was that once the normal download/install option reached 50%, my unit would refuse to go further and a quick look at GE told me that the unit was not connected.
I'll report back. |

Did my DS61 yesterday, all went well.
My 2599, after update, took about 5 minutes to get a GPS lock but the DS61 got it instantly. _________________ DashCam:

Used my unit for the last two days and it's working 'normally'.
My initial reaction is to leave it alone. The audio and maps are behaving themselves. Anyone have any contrary views? |
