I'm wondering how well the reversing camera works. I'm thinking of getting a DriveSmart 65 MT-D and adding a reversing camera - probably the BC 30.
Has anyone any experience with the reversing camera? |

I'm wondering if you went ahead and got both the Drivesmart 65 and the BC30?
I have an older Garmin sat nav and would also like to put a reversing camera on the back of my fathers trailer. As money is a little tight I would probably look to install it myself. Does anyone know how easy this would be? I'd be grateful for any tips if someone has done it.
I have looked around on the internet for a guide and most places (and indeed most retailers) recommend getting a professional installer. Presumably, this means the local garage?
I did find this one guy who says you should be able to install it fairly straightforwardly https://whichsatnav.com/garmin-bc-30-wireless-backup-camera-installation
So perhaps it could be a project for when I next get home from college.
Any advice would be much appreciated. |

No - haven't done anything yet. Was thinking about it and then we had the lockdown and my car has hardly moved since! No need to spend on a new device and I wouldn't be able to test it properly either.
My vintage TomTom didn't seem to like being left unused for weeks and the battery has finally given up, I think. I left it on charge for two days before the green led came on. Not sure if it will even start now, so it might be high on the list when things get back near normal. _________________ Current device ailing ToTom Go Live 1000 |

Once you've got power into it, start it and leave it in view of an overhead set of satellites for it to find itself. Mine has bheen unused since mid March and when I did a short trip last weekend it never found a satellite fix because I didn't stay still long enough for it to find one. My desktop charger is dud, so I can only charge it in the vehicle, so I still need to get it back to satellite contact for when I eventually need to start using it again. _________________ Dennis
