|
|
On some mornings when powering up my tomtom and GPS it can take up to a full half hour to acquire any sort of sats!!!!
However...if I goto map view and set the reset GPS to this location it will find some within minutes!! Is there a way to set this to happen automatically to my home location each time TomTom starts up? |

No, that's a manual process, and it should only be used when your receiver is in trouble... looks like yours is in a lot of trouble... What's its sky view condition? coated glass? _________________ Lutz

The glass is tinted, it has always been like this and if I use the external it works fine. Strange that the reset works though! |

Acquiring a fix is much more complicated than keeping a fix. With the reset you save the receiver some guesswork. _________________ Lutz

I did not know that TT could "write" to the GPS unit like Winfast Navigator does. |

yes, the reset is part of the NMEA specification. Any program that cares can do this. CoPilot does it as well. _________________ Lutz
