Hi andy431,
to the forum!
A quick search on Google shows that a TomTom 6250 is a Truck PND.
I have a MacBook Pro on which I create TomTom POIs. I then use my Mac to transfer the POIs to my iPhone for use with the TomTom iOS GO Navigate app. I do not have any current TomTom PND, i.e. any TomTom PNDs made since 2013 and which use MyDrive.
I'm going to assume that you're asking just how to load existing custom POIs onto your Truck TomTom 6250 as opposed to how to create your own custom POIs for your Truck TomTom 6250? Both can be done, but creating POIs on a MacBook Pro takes a number of steps and is outside the scope of this individual post, although I'd be happy to give your instructions in another post.
1. Find your custom POI and save it in a logical place on your MacBook Pro.
2. In Safari or any other browser on MacBook Pro, go to MyDrive website.
https://mydrive.tomtom.com
3. Log onto MyDrive in browser with same details as on your 6250.
4. go to MyPlaces (icon) | POI files | Import POI file
Please see TomTom video on YouTube here, the relevant information for you is just after 2:08, the video will start a few seconds before so that you have the full information:
Warning #1
I have not used any TomTom PND made since 2013, i.e any TomTom PND that uses MyDrive. From what I understand, if you load multiple custom POI categories into MyPlaces in MyDrive, then they will all be concatenated into one big super-category, which may be a PITA for you. As I don't have a current TomTom PND I cannot confirm this. Please let me know if this is indeed the case.
Warning #2
There's no point importing speed camera POIs into any TomTom PND made since 2013. This is because no custom POI can appear on the screen and you can't set proximity alerts. If you need to have speed camera warnings then I recommend that you use the CamerAlert app on either an Android or iPhone.
If you need to create your own custom TomTom POIs using a MacBook Pro, then let me know.
