The average speed cameras that have been installed between j4 and j11 on the M27 are due to be turned on today. Roadworks are expected to last until 2021. |

Thanks for the heads up, but they are not on the submission map (except just one pending at the J4 end) so perhaps you would like to accurately report their positions and extend your lifetime membership by a year? |

They are being very considerate with the cameras. While the cameras are all in place between J4 and J9, they are only using the ones where roadworks are in progress. At the moment this is betwen J4 and J5. I drove through yesterday and marked them with the Camera Alert app. They aren't showing on the main map though. They appear to have left the app. Can anyone see them?
What is the process for submitting 'camera not in use' cameras? |

Tough call.
Trying to keep on top of ever moving roadworks is difficult. Especially when the speed varies from 50 to 70 and vice versa.
There are a load of cameras waiting for activation, so check back Weds after the database update post appears. _________________ DashCam:

has to put them there.
No point in posting 'Not in use' as if removed from the database (once they have been added) it only attracts many more submissions from people who have seen them.
I believe that the policy is that if a camera is there, it's on the database for the above reasons.
Most people should be able to work out for themselves whether they are active at the lower speed limit from the usual, hard to miss, speed limit signs. |

I only marked the ones that were in use on Saturday.
Next time I will mark all of them so at least they will be on the DB. |

Probably the best solution is for you to mark the ones that are 60mph as 'Variable'.
That way we aren't telling you what the speed limit at that camera is as it may vary = 'keep em peeled'
That way, you won't get constant warnings if they were set at 50mph but your 'eyes' tell you it's currently 60 _________________ DashCam:

Went through at the weekend. Marked all cameras. The ones that were not in use i set as variable speed *. There is a small problem with the eastbound off slip at J5. There is a camera on the motorway just before the exit which is a mid point camera. There is no camera on the exit slip road so the same camera is also the end point camera if you are leaving the motorway.
I logged a dummy end camera on the slip road but not sure how you handle this situation in the database. |

I've added a note to your submission. Once processed then CamerAlert will know to turn off the average speed. |
