Hi all My son's TT Via 135 shuts down and restarts every 2 min. Before I disassemble it does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried drum roll reset to no avail.

Is this on power or just on internal battery?
If on power, have you another power lead that you could try?
What is battery status, i.e. does it seem to hold charge or is it dead?
Have you done anything to it recently, i.e. updated software, maps, or POIs?
Can you temporary remove some POIs and then try running it?
Have you made a full backup, if not are you able to connect it to a computer and fully back it up or does it even shut down after 2 mins when doing that?
NB I don't have a TT Via 135, these are just things worth trying.

Changed power leads it does it in all situations. Managed to get it to stay on long enough to update navcore but was happening previously. Unfortunately it uses the crap MyDrive so performing a windows backup is not possible. Battery status is good and holds well even when left doing its restart routine. Beats me at the moment as to why. Would have been a lot simpler had it been like my xl live and using Home.

Hi gasman40,
How old is unit, is it in warranty?
I'm afraid that I haven't used an TT PND that uses MyDrive as I agreed TT Home was much easier to solve problems!
Hopefully somebody with VIA 135 or MyDrive experience will be able to help you more.
On an aside, on TT VIA 135, you have to load POIs onto it via MyDrive, does it show POI icons on map and navigation screens? If so does it show the correct custom POI icons or generic POI icons for custom POIs?

Robert It's one of the earlier models to use MyDrive and it displays the same as my XL Live. All correct icons and oggs from here.

SOLVED
Just for information I appear to have solved the problem by separating the front of unit and strangely disconnected the paperclip reset button and then performed a factory reset using the menu one in the unit. It had previously refused to do this and had only allowed me to drum roll or paperclip reset. Hopefully it will continue to work and if it fails again I will update.
