My 1440 is using CN Europe NT 2018.10 and even an updated GE didn't offer me an update for it, the only update available was for France Dangerous zones, so should I have been offered the update to 2018.20?
Cheers

No, only the NTU version has been released, your 1490 needs the NT version. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Depends. There are less releases of the NT map so there may not be a NT version of this map. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I went into MyGarmin for the first time in a while today and noticed that the symbol for my Nuvi 760 appears to be greyed out.
I wonder if it has reached the end of its map (2018.10 NT) and software updates?
No bad going, if it has, after having it since 2008. |

I've just got back from trip involving driving through Belgium.
I haven't figured it all out yet but I was driving along a motorway (E403 I think, south of Zeebrugge) which the Garmin directed me on to when suddenly the display showed I was driving through fields and going berserk trying to work out the route. This went on for some 10min/20km.
I stopped and fired up Google maps on my phone. It showed my exact position on the motorway and then calculated the way forward.
Eventually the Garmin caught up and all was well.
I was surprised as the maps were updated only a few weeks ago.
I'm going see if can detail this more accurately and inform Garmin. |

Sounds like you lost satellite lock. Perhaps someone around you was using a GPS jammer. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Agree - sounds like a lost satellite signal although unusual to last anywhere like that long. Did it just happen the once?
Once you'd stopped to fire up Google Maps, did the Garmin catch up straightaway - normally when you are stationary it finds you quickly but if you are on the move it will take far longer. _________________ DriveLuxe 51 LMT D - Firmware 6.80

I've checked the route I'm pretty sure we took on both Basecamp and ViaMichelin. They are both all but identical so that would eliminate any map error.
I no idea of the range of a GPS jammer but the circumstances fit.
It probably took a few mins to get Google Maps up and running during which time the car was stationary. When I looked back at the Garmin, it had locked back in and was showing the route.
Very odd.
Many thanks. |
