Could anyone tell me where in the UK I could get an external antenna to fit a Tomtom Bluetooth GPS?
Do they work, or would I be better with a re-rad antenna? |

Apparently the Tomtom BT GPS has an MMCX connector, so click here for the kiddie you need. I would say they work better than a re-rad, and I have used both. The re-rad would only, IMO, be a better option if you had more than one device. e.g. GPS and separate GPS based 'Speed' camera detector. _________________ Tim |

Thanks for that.
I have now found a forum in French on GPSpassion which says that the Haicom is MMCXa and so will not fit the Tomtom which is MMCXb.
The forum suggests that the Pretec and Sysonchip external antenna will work with a Tomtom BT unit.
Can anyone confirm this, please?
If so, is the Pretec antenna worth double the price of the Sysonchip?
Thanks. |

Anyone on this?????
What about where I can get one in the US? I've contacted TomTom and they directed me to a site in the Netherlands - not much use to me. And none of the GPS vendors here in the US seem to have a clue.

The documentation says it is an "MC female" jack - can anyone explain the different jacks and what works with what. Somebody has got to have an external antenna for this thing. |

So I've finally found a Rikaline distributer in the US that has the antenna that is supposed to be compatible with the TomTom BT unit and I've ordered it. Even though I was getting good signal with the unit in the trunk it would go from 6 to 0 to 3 to 7 to 0 too often which I think is cuaing other problems. They have to special order it so it'll take a few weeks to get but I'll post the details for those of you on this side of the pond when I get it working.
