Having used a TomTom Start 20 for around 5 years and the battery getting tired to the point its flat every time it starts and the map out of date, I decided with the way TomTom seem to be going its time for a change.
I bought a new Garmin LD 50 yesterday and took out a subscription here and once setup what a difference. Pleased with the Garmin now the PocketGPS Speed Cameras is all loaded up with voice alerts as the beep and small Garmin Cyclops warnings didn't warn me enough after having the cameras from here with voicve alerts on the TomTom.
Big thank you for the members here who took the time to compile the how to load it and put the info into the forum.

Just been on a test route and the cameras were displayed on the PocketGPS and Cyclopse but no voice warning? even approached above the speed limit, came back and reloaded the file with POI Loader and must have missed it last night 1am + there were warnings in the box after the camera file was loaded saying wav format could not be converted so were not loaded? just redownloaded the file again this time choosing mp3 and its loaded up with no warnings on audio.
Perhaps the Garmin LD 50 just takes mp3s ? not had time to retest yet, wil report back |

It's WAV not MP3.
I was right about the missing SOX then. No SOX no verbals, as expected.
Also, you don't need to venture out to test, just use GPS simulation mode. _________________ DashCam:

But you said elsewhere that it was working just fine.
Good idea to stick to just one thread. |

I thought that POILoader complained if you had WAVs and no sox.exe as that's what peeps have flagged up in the past as a 'what's wrong'.??????? |

It did when I reloaded wav files this afternoon, said warning in the box cannot convert the wav files, not loaded, which I missed as the matchsticks holding my eyes open at 1-1.30am failed most likely ?
sorted now |

I wonder if he means a Garmin Drive 50LM 5 Inch Lifetime Maps UK & ROI from Argos @£120.
Please clarify hypnotist as you have confused several here. |

Oh dear, if so, no '-T' then missing out on Garmins excellent traffic.
Garmins traffic has got me to avoid a few 'car parks' that RDS either didn't cover or hadn't transmitted yet. _________________ DashCam:
