Nissan Connect 3 (LCN2)

I see only two GPS Camera files available for Nissan Connect and the newer version file worked well in my Nissan Qashqai, I tried it in the new Connect 3 in my Nissan X-Trail but it wouldn't load. Has the new Nissan Connect 3 (LCN2) got a differnt format and will it be available soon?

You need to load in a specific way on the usb; sometimes the car will detect automatically the weekly update file and show DOWNLOAD pop up.
Otherwise you have to go into settings on Connect Set Up, choose navigation, My POI's, then select DOWNLOAD.

FORMAT REQUIRED:

Enter blue text EXACTLY as below.
CREATE NEW FOLDER on usb called, myPOIs
Inside that folder, create another called, mypoiwarnings
and inside that drop the weekly file called "pocketgps_uk_sc" inside the zip file you d/load from pocketgps.
(Only that one is compatible.)
Unfortunately no sound options are available that will work with CONNECT, which is a big weakness as the legacy sound warning the car
produces, when approaching a camera are very quiet, plus small camera icon on map.

I recently change my car.
Previously I had a Nissan Qashqai 2011 which had the Connect system LCN1 fitted. I got the speed camera warning and visual description of type of fixed/mobile camera on screen.
Now I have 2016 Qashqai with LCN2 system which only gives audible warning and camera shown on bottom RH side of screen, with no indication of type of camera involved.
Does anyone know if there any way I can get this information displayed on screen?

Surprised and disappointed nobody has responded yet.
All I want is confirmation that when the latest camera database is downloaded a banner is shown on the Connect screen giving details of the type of camera.
Not a lot to ask but so far nothing😱

Rest assured that you are not being ignored (872 looks) is just that no one can actually answer your question.
It seems likely that no one who has read your request can answer it. The reason for no response is possibly because no one has the same nav system as you AND got it to work work as you have asked. Presumably you have read the last three lines on the post immediately above your first post, but that does not really answer it either.

Thanks for your interest.
There might be a lot of ‘lookers’ but no ‘doers’ at the moment.
I get the icon and bleep so that is not a problem.
I can’t believe there are only a few Nissan Connect users using this Forum as the system is used on several models.
So far I have tried here and the Nissan QQclub Forum, Nissan Customer Services and the local dealer without success.
Difficult to understand why someone can’t tell me what they see or don’t see on the screen when a camera alert happens.
Always the optimist I can always hope someone will come to my rescue!

I don’t believe that is correct because on my previous car I had a banner shown on screen which gave me the details I am not seeing currently.
If that banner is not available any longer I might have to bring Tom Tom into action.
It is possible to get monthly speed camera updates from Nissan by the way.

Do you know a link within the PocketGPSWorld system that I can use to enquire what information is available on screen when the Nissan Connect updates are downloaded, please?

I’ve given up trying to get text on Connect screen.
Instead have downloaded CamerAlert to iPhone so get camera type warnings that route now Smile

Still using same method to identify type of camera involved on iPhone and getting camera warning icon on Connect screen at same time.
