I say a small problem it could be my settings but I thought I would ask.
I have Android auto on my smartphone and am very pleased with it after tweaking so many settings but the one thing I cant get is the icon of the speed camera on the google maps its running. I get the red box warning and the flashing speed limit if I am overspeed just cant see where the camera is on the road.
I am impressed with the Android auto being able to phone ,set destinations and even SMS by voice and can cope without the icons if its not capable as camera alert and android auto play together so well. _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

If the alerts are for mobile cameras, you will be unlucky if there is one there as they are elsewhere for 99% of the time. You should be able to spot all the fixed cameras by looking out through the window though. |

I do love these jocular replies . I do worry when screaming down a motorway at 52 mph and it warns me of a speed limit of 30 mph and cant tell if the elf and safety people have finally triumphed and that has become the national speed limit and at my advanced age pretty pictures tell a fuller story than my ailing eyesight can do. _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

If you are getting silly speed cameras on the motorway, it could be for two reasons. The most likely for a 30MPH one is that you are passing close to a 30MPH camera on a nearby road. The second reason could be that there were roadworks on that stretch, and a mobile/SPECS array has been setup there, but the roadworks have gone, but the cameras are still in the database.
If the latter, report the issue to PGPSW.
There are a couple of likely candidates for the 30MPH on the M27 as you pass Lower Swanwick. One is on Swanwick Road and the other on Dodwell Lane. |

Those I do know, what does worry me is when I am an unfamiliar areas like Yorkshire or Scotland . What I am asking is , is it possible to see the camera icons on Google maps or am I chasing an impossible dream.
Also I am just passing on the fact that apart from this camera alert plays very well with the new android auto for smartphones when you don't have a super dooper touch screen radio. _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

If you are talking about the CamerAlert app from here, its map display does use Google maps and downloads map tiles 'on the fly' but it's not a nav app, just a camera warning app. What it doesn't do is superimpose its camera icons on any other nav software, even if that is the Google maps app. But it does popup alerts over any other nav app providing it is running in the background. |
