I have just bought a 2599 LMT-D yesterday as they have chopped £50 off the price. I read the online manual and it happily chugged away for two hours updating the maps on to its included 8Gb card via a Win 10 desktop.
I have also downloaded PGPSW cameras without issue (thanks again to Mike B).
I started reading page 1 of their manual about registering the lifetime subscriptions but every website they directed you to pushed you over to the Garmin US selling site. More worryingly it threw up warnings saying that the Garmin plug-in no longer works with any of the current crop of browsers.
I intend phoning the UK support number as I think we should be told what is happening. In fairness to Garmin, their copyright notice on the front screen does say 2016, so it may all have been automated.
Any ideas welcome

There's no need to register anything unless you want to. Run Express and add your nuvi, from then on Express will update maps, software etc for you. You can also register through it if you wish. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thank you for your advice and guidance sussamb.
I have gone out of Sleep mode, restarted and physically dragged the database to the PoI folder on the device. I will see what happens and report back.

I always use POIloader to create and place the .gpi on my 2599. Never had a failure. _________________ Satnav:
