Hi All
New to this forum as you can see. Great Info !
I currently have a Compaq Ipaq 3850 PDA , and two years ago i bought it with the Ipaq Navigation System (iNS) which had the Pocket Copilot Software installed on the Supplied CF Card.
Now what i would like to know is this :
1. Is TT3 better than Copilot (Generally speaking) ?
2. Will TT3 work on the NAVMAN 3000 GPS Sleeve that came with the Copilot software ?
3. Will the software install on the supplied CF card or do i need to buy another card for it ?
Many thanks in advance for your help and advice.
Regards |

Hey Griff
Thanks for your quick reply.....
Now that i have someone in a similar situation......
1. Did the software install OK on the supplied CF Card that came with the Copilot bundle - what about the activation part of it ??
2. If it does work on the GPS Jacket ( Navman 3000 i think )
- Where do i get the CORRECT Driver ?
- How is the speed compared to a SD card
- Reading the TTFF Tests - i see that the Navman GPS hardware
is really below par compared to the wired GPS sollution that you
buy as a bundle with the TT3 Software
So i was thinking of getting the TT3 software and Wired GPS bundle, and then buy a seperate mount for it ....
I have more questions....but i'll first wait for your reply
Thanks again !

Yes the software will install on the CF card OK, you will of course have to remove the CoPilot files to make room.
The Jacket driver is in a folder on the CoPilot installation CD.
The Navman/CoPilot Jacket is getting very long in the tooth, compared with the current crop of Mouse and Bluetooth receivers it lags way behind. You would be well advised to get a new receiver. _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK...
So something like This would suit my needs ???
Also would you advise me getting another mount for my car since it looks like the mount that comes with this bundle seems a bit dodgy ( never liked the windscreen suction mounts) which is the best mount for the Ipaq 38xx series PDA's
I drive a Vauxhall Meriva
Thanks |

That would be fine, the TomTom wired GPS is manufactured by Leadtek and is one of if not the best of it's kind.
Whilst I don't like windscreen mounts TomTom's is very good and you'd be well advised to give it a go before spending on another as it may well suit you fine.
The only other thing you may have overlooked is if you don't use the jacket you'll need an SD Storage Card on which to store the maps as you'll lose the CF slot. _________________ Darren Griffin |
