Hi everyone,
Installing the map of Germany on my Fujitsu Siemens Pocket Loox and a 256 MB CF card took the whole night. I started the installation before going to bed and in the morning it still was not finished. Is this normal?
Regards,

Well I don't know the size of the Germany map but I do know it takes approx 2.5 hours to load the GB map (101mb) to my SD card via ActiveSync - if you have had it running all night, I would suggest it is not working - I would probably stop it and try again. I have found loading these maps onto cards via ActiveSynch to be very hit and miss and have often had to try more than once before the loading was successful.

It does not take me anything like that time over activesynch but you are probably better off buying a card reader. TT3 can write directly to folders on a PC or a card reader. |

It definitely took me less than an hour to install the maps. Are you synching through Bluetooth or USB. USB would be preferable. _________________ Rgds,

It takes me about 20-30 minutes to transfer maps via cradle/activesync, and about 2 minutes via a USB card reader... they aren't expensive (£10£15) and you won't regret buying one! |

I use USB and active sync. Something must be wrong but I do not know where. I will buy a CF reader, I need one anyway. I did not realize TT3 could write immediately to a card reader. Great. Thanks all of you.

You might want to try installing to your hard drive and then copying from there to your SD card. |
