I think this is the equiverlant of closing the stables door after the horse has bolted, but...
I have purchased an XDA 1 Kane Kit, which has the charger for the Ipaq. I also have an Ipaq 2210, which has the same power socket (in size).
I tried to see if I could get the ipaq to work, so inserted the power into the cig lighter, and then connected the ipaq and receiver.
First of all, no problems, then ipaq went dead, and has not been seen alive since - not even a flicker. Is the power consumption different, and have I killed my ipaq???????

Whilst the 2210 and XDA and XDAII share the same power requirements, the sync port on the bottom although physically identical is not compatible. The sync connector is rotated 180 degrees, power and other pins have different assignments and so accessories cannot be mixed. I'm afraid it's entirely likely that you're 2210 motherboard has been fried _________________ Darren Griffin

Many PDAs use the same bottom connector as Ipaq, namely, XDA 1&2, Mitac Mio, Viewsonic V35/36/37, PB Pocketgear, Medion etc etc.
But the pin assignments are different. It will do not harm if you connect data cable to try, but it is dangerous if you connect any wrong power accessories, including sync n charge cable.
The same applies to Fujitsu Loox, Toshiba e3xx/7xx, Axim X3, Asus A620 etc, all sharing the same connector. _________________ Pc-Mobile
