:x I have just purchased Kane Car Pilot for an XDA.
I am trying to loads the software onto my Ipaq 2210. Active sync 3.7 is running, and working fine. However, when I try to load the software from the CD, I keep getting a 'PDA not Connected' error, which I know it is, and the PC can see it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm having exactly the same problems.
I notive you didn't get a reply to your post and I'm wondering if you've managed to resolve the issue? |

Can't remember exactly the reason, but I think it was to do woth different operating systems, or something. Basically, the software is not compatable.
WARNING - Do not, under any circumstances, put the Power Lead from the XDA into the Ipaq - it will fry your memory board. It is the same size, but not the same configuration. Result - 1 dead PDA (however, I did manage to get Ipaq to replace the motherboard under the guarantee - but was extremly surprised they did that. They may not necessarily do it every time. |

You connected "Kane Car Pilot for an XDA" to an Ipaq?
Of course it will not work though you can insert the cable into the Ipaq as they use the same connector.
You were lucky that it did not damage your Ipaq when you turn the power on. _________________ Pc-Mobile

I did not look at the date and now realise that was in June, and that it was the result. _________________ Pc-Mobile

I e-mailed the Kane support and got this reply today;
"The software you have purchased is for Pocket PC 2000 and 2002 PDAs
> only. There are two routes available, our latest upgrade which includes

> £39.95 and £3.99 p&p, I must point out that this particular upgrade is a
> little outdated now."
In other words to get the bundled software to work I will need to roll the OS on the iPaq from Pocket PC 2003 to 2002. Obviously not something I'm keen on doing. The other option is to fork out for their 'latest upgrade'. I further complained about their response mentioning that the box states the product is 'HP Certified' and surely a free upgrade should be available. There response was that the box states Pocket PC 2002 and I should have read it! - not easy when purchased from Argos!
Look like I may be better of eBay'ing the whole thing!! |
