Anyone using this application. It came pre-installed on my Android G35 phone from USA.
There is something funny about it. It can't be installed from the play store, it says all my 12 devices are incompatible, but if I hard reset the phone, it installs. In The USA it installs a USA basemap, in the UK a UK basemap. Other maps are available to install at cost, it quotes whole world for $15.

It uses Openstreetmap.

I've used Skobbler a few times. It's OK as a basic nav (well, this is going back 3 years at least!!) and it was one of the first that offered turn-by-turn routing using OpenStreetMap (although it used a 3rd party to generate the routes so needed a data connection to do that).

I've not used it for years though... Might dig it out and see how it's improved!

I've got the UK version of "GPS Navigation by Scout" by Skobbler GmbH on my iPhone.

It's not a bad app for the money. I used it for a couple of weeks, before I bought TomTom UK. "GPS Navigation by Scout" works well as long as you have data switched on as it has access to TripAdvisor, Foursquare, etc.If you're roaming and switch off data then I don't know how well it will work.

As you say, it uses OpenStreetMap but I don't know how often it updates the map data.

Best to try it for a week or so and see what you think to it as you already have it.

Regards,
