This may seem a silly question, but its one I would like to ask.
I have just downloaded and installed the latest v935 maps on my Go750 via TT Home. At the same time, the 'Update Postcode' option was automatically pre-selected, and that was installed too.
Why then, are the v935 postcodes offered separately on here?
Do I/should I in install these too? _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Historically, TomTom used to offer TheMaps and the PostCodes as two separate downloads. I know not why.
Nowadays, the post codes are bundled in with the map updates. However, not everybody has the latest device or downloads the latest maps. There are still plenty of us who are on older hardware/maps. Postcodes change, so it's nice to have a direct link to be able to download the post code files even though some of the roads don't exist for us.
I think.
Thanks for the links justbrowsing.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
I have the latest map so I will not bother downloading and installing the separate postcode files. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Thats good to know, personally I don't go any where near TT Home/MyDrive/Wherever with my SatNAvs so I have no idea what is available and what isn't. I'm just grateful for the PostCode links so that I can download those and install direct to my SD cards. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

OMG a heretic! Don't you ever read the TomTom publicity? All those devices and not a mapshare connection between them? Not a QuickGPSFix to be seen? You don't deserve to get where you're going. You must have maps that are 97% changed by now. And how you ever get a satellite lock must be an astonishing coincidence. It must be worse than my new TT R-Link! _________________ Dennis

I think I can just about spot Dennis doing subtle but this feels different for somehow.
Seriously though, I gave up on TT updates yonks ago. Nothing good ever came of them so what was the point? They just deleted all previouss settings and reduced functionality. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

Hmm, not always true, back when I had an XL there was an update that allowed me to enter co-ordinates - a new feature I hadnt had until then. |
