Hi. There is a new update available for Sygic on Android . I think it has been around for a few weeks.

Has any body installed it yet please? If so any problems or all OK?

Thanks

Yes just bought whole world for £36 and successfully installed and running on a Nexus 4 phone and a Nexus 10 tablet. Very pleased with it. Just one issue when navigating to an imported POI. It doesn't work.

What do you mean by "It doesn't work"? Not a very descriptive 'fault' symptom.Crying or Very sad
I can navigate to a nearby mobile camera from PGPSW added as a custom POI in Sygic. Or is that not what you meant? If not, please clarify what "It doesn't work".

I've just downloaded it tonight. First impressions, back to the learning curve as it seems to have had a complete overhaul. I've also paid the in app €10 for the in built dash cam app which I will try out tomorrow. But I can't see the quick Home button, I guess I have to put my address in somewhere again.

No, it doesn't work like that FF. It's a bit fiddly. Menu ~ Navigate to ~ Home ~ Set (bottom right) Gives the options: Current position, Select from map, Address etc. If you Select from map etc, click Done. That sets the home address location. The only thing you have to watch is that you don't redefine Home when you try to navigate there by inadvertently pressing Set again.
When you want to go home. Settings ~ navigate to... ~ Home ~ Drive to ~ Navigate (bottom right)

Hi,
I have been using pocketgpsworld speedcams with Sygic for 2 years. With the latest Oct 2014 Sygic update it is still possible to import and display speed cameras as a custom POI.

BUT (and it is a big but)

The option to set a Notification for a Custom POI has disappeared. So I get nice new, bigger icons for my cameras in all the right places but no option to define a verbal notification. On one device I had to delete and reinstall Sygic and I have lost all my notifications. I am not very happy. I have not had to reinstall on my S4 phone. My previous notifications still work for the time being but I cannot amend them.

I have raised with Sygic helpdesk, I hope this is a temporary oversight.

Strange.

I am using v14.3.4 on a Galaxy S4 and I can still edit my notifications and add new ones

I think I have the latest version

Have you got a Sygic TTS voice installed in Sygic? I overlooked that when I got my new phone and didn't get the voice alerts. You don't get to put in verbal warnings unless you have.
I have 14.3.4 on my SGS5 and they work fine.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I am using Sygic 14.6.6 which is a newer version uploaded this week. Like I said the option to have notifications for custom/imported POIs had been available in earlier updates. My version number is so different, wish I had your version.

I haven't been offered that update yet on either my phone or tablet so will have to sit this out just now.

14.3.4 is the version still being offered on Play.

Update to 14.6.7 received yesterday on my S4 but not for my Note 8 yet (thankfully)

What a mess. I can now see your point about not being able to add notifications for POIs and yet you can still display them.

IMO the new UI is a complete disaster and it keeps freezing for me, not locking up though as it does eventually respond again.

If you try to navigate to a postcode it does not give you the option of a house number it will just give you the street. In my road with all its turn-offs the one postcode covers houses 1 - 31

I cannot find an option to "travel via" once a route has been planned. The only way to change the route is to go to the map view and long press on a point to then add it to the route.

Still finding more

Definitely a step backwards

Rick

Jolly pleased I took this off auto update on my phone. Seems like Sygic don't beta test or listen to their users.
