|

I have a 3970 with the NAVMAN jacket, which has iPAQ Navigation System wrote down the side. It came with co-pilot software, which I am getting fed up with, so I purchased Tom Tom 3.
Does this actually work with this jacket, if so what settings do I need?? At the moment I have it set to NAVMAN 3000 and have downloaded the serial drivers, but after leaving it in the garden for 3 hours!! cannot get any gps signal...
Can someone please help me....... |

You have the wrong driver installed. You need the iNS specific one. If you follow this link and look at the fourth message in the thread, written by me, you'll see an attached file. That is the driver you need. _________________ Tim |

Tim,
Thanks for that, I have downloaded to my iPAQ and run to install it, its starts installing but at the end comes up with the error message 'OptScanBus Failed!' You can then select OK. If I try to install again, it says that the drivers are already installed, is this correct? If it is, in the GPS settings in Tom Tom what device do I need to set it to.
I have been trying it with NAVMAN 3000 and it only gives one option underneath, which is a GPS reciever.
Sorry to pose such annoying questions, but I would just like to get this sorted!!!!!
Anymore help would be much apreciated..... |

After re-loading the drivers again, the only option that I have is COM port 6, is this correct, or have I messed it up..... |

When I have my Navman sleeve (an SE, not an iNS) it uses Com 6 at 57600, so I'd say 'yes' it is correct. (My 5555 uses Com 4 with the same kit.) _________________ Tim |
