|
|
I have just recently bought a Garmin Nuvi52LM and am used to an old Navman GPS i bought in 2006 which had a goto centre of area or centre of city option. I can't seem to find a similar option with this Garmin GPS and want to return it for a GPS with this feature.
Can anyone suggest a GPS that has free map updates, speed cams and europe maps that has this find centre of area instead of having to pick a random street and head for it...
Many thanks in advance |

You can go to cities on your 52 without entering a street. You should have a Where to, Towns options
Failing that just do a Where to, Address and enter only the town
It's possible that as this is a basic nuvi this is missing but if so it's the first nuvi that hasn't been able to do this. Certainly those in the Essential or the Prestige series will do what you want. Here's a good site that gives the various options:

For lifetime maps just pick a model ending in LM. |

thanks for your reply.
I've tried the where to, and towns options but they all ask for the street name and number.
The same with the Where to, and Address option, I can enter for instance Birmingham but I then have to enter a street name.
Its a bit frustrating when you are visiting new cities and towns, its kind of chicken and egg in my mind. |

I guess then the basic series don't allow it, any of the 4 digit nuvis should do so though. |
