But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

I'm not familiar with the device, but a quick Google suggests that it uses its own Database, rather than the PocketGPSWorld Speed Camera Database. It looks like the £50 annual subscription will cover you for all necessary downloads, so if it is corrupt, can you not re-download? _________________ Jock

No, can't re download...they still want £50 to do so. And, the thing is; I hardly ever use it. I'm retired, so I only use car once every 2 week mainly to do shopping locally - 2 miles from my home. The pogo was bought (paid extra) already installed in car. The seller conned me into buying it - didn't tell me I had to pay £50 a year subscription fee in order to update data/software.

Depending on how long you've had it, I'd try to get my money back from the seller.
I can't see any (free) solution, I'm afraid. If someone was to give you a copy of their current database (probably breaching copyright which would be against the rules in these forums, so we'll discuss it no further) you'd still be out of date by the end of the week. If you really only use the car to travel for local shopping, I'm afraid that the cheapest solution would be to stick to the speed limit. If you do make longer journeys, do you use a SatNav (the Pogo Alert only does camera detection, right?) ? It's possible to install the PocketGPSWorld Speed Camera Database on many SatNavs (see the list here), and the 12 month subscription costs just £19.99. The database can also be used on iOS and Android smartphones.
It may be that a Pogo Alert user may be able to offer better advice, but mentions of them on the forums are pretty sparse and seem to date back a number of years. _________________ Jock
