Dorota Wysoczanska, a 36 year old nurse from Kent, managed to drive the wrong way down a dual carriageway for 20 miles.
She became confused with her satnav's instructions and turned down an incorrect slip road which led her to a carriageway on the A14 with traffic travelling in the opposite direction.
When she became aware of her mistake, she felt it was too dangerous to turn around so just flashed her lights at oncoming traffic.
Concerned motorists alerted the police and she was eventually brought to a standstill by a rolling roadblock near Stowmarket, Suffolk.
Ipswich Crown Court heard that Wysoczanska had been assaulted by her partner at a friends house in Kings Lynn and fled in a state of distress as soon as he fell asleep.
She was found to have more than twice the legal level of alcohol for driving in her blood and was sentenced to two months imprisonment, suspended for two years, along with a driving ban for 40 months and £120 costs.

She drove the wrong way for 20 miles - is there anywhere on the A14 where there isn't a junction for more than 20 miles? _________________ Dennis
