Know little about GPS at the mo, but trying to learn quickly.

Wish to add GPS functionality to my ipaq 5550 (Windows Mobile 2003). It appears the two best buys are:

Emtac Ipaq GPS Jacket £85 inc p&p (http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=112533)

HP Navigation System 2 £111 in p&p
(http://www.hpstore.hp.co.uk/item?SID=bf4466089137b8df7c43603404d6a01e72d:1222&sku=FA242A)

Both feature a CF memory slot as well as the GPS, the HP also includes map software and a 128MB CF card. They look very similar - could the hardware actually be the same? I think the HP is a rebranded 'iNS' if anybody has heard of them.

Which do you think is best? Any feedback for either?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Are IPAQ sleeves/jackets a good idea, or would a separate plug-in GPS receiver be better? (cost about £60 on ebay). I know if I changed my PDA it would mean changing the GPS as well, since HP PDAs don't have sleeves anymore; however, from a performance/useability view is one better than the other, or are they much the same?

Hi
I am fairly new to this too but I have had an ipaq ins sleeve for about 2 years now and for me the fact it has a compact flash slot on the side is a big plus I have a 2 gig micro drive in it and it works well. I use tom tom 3 and am pleased with the way it now works (after the updates) much better than the ipaq software that my sleeve came with

Thanks.

What's battery life like? I know when using in a car you can power from the cigarette adaptor, however when using separately how much does the GPS and/or CF effect the ipaq battery?
