garmin vista, gpsmap60c or 76c?

i am looking to purchase my first gps unit. i have a palm tungsten t2 already and i would like to link to it and have in car sat nav. i will also want to use the gps unit alone when out walking/mountain biking etc. when i go on holiday i wont have access to a pc so i need to be able to load all my routes into the garmin before i go. i notice that the gpsmap76 has 115mb of memory available but is that because the maps are in colour and actually only store the same area as say the vista which has 24mb?

i like gadgets so am being drawn to the colour screens but are they worth the extra £200 (ish)?.
