|
|
My trusty Go700 is increasingly struggling with a sat fix and or keeping a sat fix. It is all fully updated. I used to just use it on its own, but since the sat fix problem has occured i have put the remote sat reciver on and its still struggles at times. What can be wrong with it ? it is used in my truck mostly which is the same one I have had for over two years. I know it doesnt like to get hot in the sun so do try and protect it from that. If it does get too hot, it has crashed if i try and do a new route
Is it a processor problem ?
Can it be fixed ?
What can I replace it with ? I need my own cutsom POI's to get the sites I have to deliver to |

Is the battery fully charged?
And how long since you connected to Home for a new gpsquickfix file? _________________ David |

Yes, battery fully charged
I connect to home for any updates quite regularly, anything from a week to three week at the most
The gpsquickfix file never shows unless it comes under map updates ? |

I am pretty sure they can't use it Andy
Still playing up, one minute its fine, then all of sudden it just loses all satellites and after a undermined amount of time it finds some or all of them again. Which is a right pain if your in the tricky bit of course
I take it not many folks on here still have or are aware of the 700 then ? |

2 very old but very reliable Go700s here .. one for me, one for SWTSMBO .. no problems with satellites at all on either.
Have you tried a hard reset ??? Don't know why but it seems to clean up any niggling problems that build up over time, seems to do more than a simple power off/power on cycle ?? |

Yes, have tried and had to do a paperclip reset a few times, when she got a bit hot in the sun and crashed
Just had a thought, there was a flash cleaner thing once ? cant remember what it was called exactly, would that help perhaps ? |

It wouldn't do any harm.
The Windows version is Here.
The Mac version is Here.
Run it several times, but be aware that nothing appears to happen (no progress graphic). _________________ Richard

No, you download the application to the computer. Connect the unit to the computer. When you click on 'run' (or 'install', I forget which)for the Clear Flash application, it's actually doing its thing regarding the device.
So do the process 3 times. _________________ David |

Thanks, I saved it to my downloads, then "run" it 3 times
Unforunately, Its seems the same atm
Not took it outside yet, but, it used to locate itself even indoors
I also did the twenty second paperclip reset then five second power button reset, but, it appears the same atm |
