\When I switched my Live 1000 on it would ago many minutes before traffic data would be loaded. Im connecting my GO 500 via my smart phone and have noticed how quick the traffic data is beinf fed to the unit witin seconds.

With G4 aaround the corner for O2 and Voda does this mean delivery of data will be quicker (I know the amount of data is very small) and do the curent units work on 3g or grrs - just wondered why the data laoding is longer on the live 1000

All the models with built-in SIM cards up to now (such as the GOx40 and x50 ranges and the GO1000/1005) have used the slow 2G connection.
It's known that several (if not all) of the telecoms companies are cutting back on 2G coverage in order to squeeze in more 3G, and there's a fairly widespread theory that this is adversely affecting speeds of LIVE services on the TomToms.

Oh thanks Andy its explains why the data load took minutes sometimes up to 15 minutes to load. Using my phome data connection the load as stated was within a couple of minutes.

I guess there no way the new unit will have a 4G connection
