I must be having a senior moment but I cannot find anywhere in TomTom Home to renew my map update service for the Go940. The website says use Home where a popup will give you a personalised offer. There is no popup or personalised offer.
My service expires in a week and there is an offer on until 29th Jan but I cannot work out how to use it. _________________ Drivelux |

Have you connected your Tomtom and logged in? It only shows the update when you are logged in... _________________ GO 750 Live HD Traffic, Map Europe 930, Navcore 9.510 |

logs in OK and does all the regular updates inc mpa share, just no option to buy the map update service. I can buy new maps, live services etc but just not the map update service. _________________ Drivelux |

Does anyone know the real costs of the Europe map update service and the offer?
From what I can see the normal price of a map and update is about £78 but if you have the latest map, the price is £39.
However there is supposed to be a 30% discount ending today which is just not there. TomTom have not responded to a request asking for price clarification and the offer closes today.
I am tempted to forget about map updates as nothing much changes and the online support is appalling. I cannot hang on the phone in the office. _________________ Drivelux |

I can't be sure because as usual I have deleted all the discount emails I've received recently, but I think you'll find that the "30%" is depending on the phases of the moon and how TT interpret it - it's usually "up to 30%" and I for one can never work out what original price it's off - I think only TT Marketing gurus can understand it! _________________ Dennis

Click 'Purchase Maps'. It gives the option to update existing maps or purchase new. Prices are all shown. |

That does not show the map update service price and only the cost of new maps I do not have. Against the price for the map I have it says " on device". _________________ Drivelux |

Not here, it's taking me to a window which lists only the map I have (Europe) and it reads: Europe - 1 year Map Update Service with a price of £74.95 reduced to £52.46.
There is an option to Continue Shopping, Stop Shopping or Checkout. 'Checkout' does just that and there's a statement,
30% discount. As you own a previous version of this map, you qualify for a 30% discount.' |

It is that window that I do not see, the web site refers to it as well. _________________ Drivelux |

Mine's also a Go940 and my laptop has TomTom Home v 2.9.3. 2962 which was a recent 'critical update'. I just checked again - click 'Purchase Maps' and up pops the window with the map update offer. |

Any possible log-in or account problems?

Do you have a current map update service? I do, and it also says "Device" next the the only map on my 720, but I wouldn't expect Home to offer me an update until my current update service expires.

Yes, I think that is the issue, my map update service is valid but only for another 9 days and it would be cheaper to lose these 9 days than the 30% discount.
I have discovered if I log out of Home with the device connected I get the offer of the map update service, which I can then place in my cart, which when I log in again is still there, but without the 30% discount. I know this is only £10 discount but it really disheartens me.
TomTom replied to my query two days ago saying phone sales, but when I asked for confirmation of the price and the issue of phone calls from the office they twice failed to reply.
I really have to consider the ongoing costs of HD service plus map update service on an old device against the benefits of alternative services available. A little customer support from TomTom would have kept me loyal for another year. _________________ Drivelux |

No current map update service, I've never updated the maps on my 940. |

Maybe that's why you never drive into lakes, rivers or railway lines. _________________ Dennis
