For some reason I can't reply to the news story regarding this update so I'm posting here.
The story incorrectly states that there is a new map included with this update! This is incorrect, it is still the previous map version of v8.95 map data.
The news story should be amended to reflect this.

Can't see how you use it with the Apple Maps app either...
Edit: Shamelessly stolen from blocktek

Okay, I just found a way. It's not at all intuitive, and I don't think I'll be using it much (too many steps):
-find your desired location in Maps
-click the right arrow in the location's name (not the green navigation logo)
-choose "directions to here"
-choose the bus logo at top right (used to take you to transit directions)
-now you'll be presented with a list of available "routing apps."
Even though you're telling the app to show you transit directions, it launches TomTom with the correct destination address. |
Apparently works with many iPhone sat nav apps....

Find a location to navigate to on iOS 6 maps
Select it and press the arrow icon
Select the bus icon, and Tomtom should appear as an option to 'send' the location too

it's a convoluted way and not totally logical that you would select a bus for car navigation but if that's the way we get it to work then that's what needs doing! Apps like Navigon *do* actually have bus routing available though so they can get away with it ;)

Can someone confirm that the previous app had older maps than 895?
Tomtom are trying to argue that the new app isn't properly installed.
Can someone confirm what map was in version 1.11? Maybe with a screen shot I can send to TT to proove the same map version is used in both apps. |

I thought v1.11 only had 890? can't say I ever checked.
I've upgraded to v1.12 now so can't confirm?
Why oh Why have they removed google search? They are brainless sometimes (unless it's part of the IOS map deal) so now we've lost Diskaid access to the POIs and the google search. That and my car kit works every once in a lifetime since I moved to an iPhone 4. At least HD Traffic still works well, the whole setup would be long gone without that. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |

When 1.11 was released Falkirk81 stated then the map was the same as the last version.
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=91164
But that version appears to contain 890 maps.
I think I misunderstood what falkirk81 meant. I now think this is a new (to iPhone) app map. With 1.12 being 895 and 1.11 being 890. I think what falkirk81 is saying is the iPhone app is one version behind the map version provided for PND units. Hence he feels it is an old map. |

As per TomTom
We woud like to inform you that app 1.11 was released with map version 8.90.
As new app is released which is app 1.12 map version 8.95 map is released with this new app.
So it is a new map just not the latest. |
