|
|
Hi
Just got the above parrot handfree installed and was hoping I could route alerts from my HTC desire running cameraleert through the parrot. This worked fine with my old Bluetooth headset however not with the parrot.
I can get it to speak the first alert I come across through the car speakers, however the parrot then just shows 'voice recognition in progress' and seems to get stuck, no further alerts then come through.
Am I missing something obvious? Thought it would work fine as,it has the ad2p feature or whatever it is called.
Any help on this would be appreciated

It should work fine. The voice recognition suggests that it thinks you are giving it a voice command to do something, so I suspect you need to look in the settings for that and change them. Have you tried using it with music from the phone, as that uses the same A2DP BT profile? If so what happens? You may just have a faulty unit. _________________ Peter

HI
yes music works fine, was hoping someone on here may have a parrot. Unit and cameralert for android. There are very few settings for streaming, nothing obvious to toggle and try. |

I was thinking more about settings for voice commands, which seem to be triggered when you get a sat nav announcement _________________ Peter

hi, I have had a look through the parrot and cameralert settings this afternoon and still not got it working, been through all menus, there is little to alter with regards to the handling of voice commands.
When using the parrot and pressing the green call button it brings up the "voice recognition in progess" for you to then say the person you wish to call.
When the cameralert app issues an alert via bluetooth I get the same screen come up, I can only surmise that the cameralert app command effectively sends a signal similar to starting a call???
I am not up on how the A2DP works, but streaming from the phone music works fine as do other apps like youtube.
Frustrating! If anyone does find how to get this to work would be grateful for an update on here

The signal is not about starting a call it is about starting the voice recognition. That is what CamerAlert seems to be doing. It must be peculiar to the Parrot. I use a similar BT car kit (THB Bury 9060) with voice recognition and CamerAlert works fine for me. So it is not about the A2DP Profile I suspect. It is more likely to be either a faulty unit or the way that the Parrot uses the profile.
I am about out of ideas now so you are going to have to wait and see if a fellow Parrot owner can help you. _________________ Peter

If you want to use A2DP then you should NOT set the CamerAlert audio output to Bluetooth Headset. Instead, leave it at "Default", and then in your phone's Bluetooth Device list find the Parrot, tap and hold it and say "use for stereo audio". _________________ Lutz
