OK, I have bought it.
My best ever phone/nave HD2 died recently, so I replaced it with Android phone (no winMo phones available anymore Crying or Very sad ).
Therefore, I cannot use iGo (funny policy that they are not selling soft to peoples, while same soft is "easily" available elsewhere).
Right, so I bought sygic recently, version 12 something.
And now my question:
1. Is it any way to have custom warnings, like in TomTom 6/7?
2. Once per month I'm updating my speedcams from here. Now: should I remove manually existing poi's, or just import new database keeping fingers crossed that duplicates will be auto-eliminated (so called: plug and pray, PnP technology) Rolling Eyes

thanks in advance.

Use the 'Plug and Pray' option. PGPSW cams work fine for me on Sygic using their file converter. Having said that, I don't have them alert me, just displayed, because I have CA running in the background to do that job for me.

Hi

I have just downloaded and installed Sygic 12 on my Samsung Galaxy S3.

I converted the PGPSWorld Speedcamera data base using the converter listed on the Sygic site and for sounds noting that sygic where using ogg sound files I just put the ones I use on my TomTom into the sound directory of sygic and all worked first time.

Hope this is of help.

Paul

Hi Paul,
this was not my concern. My specific problem was:
If I'll upload speedcam database let's say today.
If new database would be issued next month, and if I'll import it again
what would happen with the speedcam duplicates?

Fortunately, it seems that as long as the camera position in new database remains unchanged (e.g. position was not corrected) - imported duplicates will be eliminated.

I think that you will find that the new import will completely replace the previous ones not just, as you suggest, remove duplicates. How else would they be able to remove alerts for cameras that have been removed from reality and are not in the latest download?

What I have found: when I approve the import, the POI's are copied into sdcard/Sygic/Maps/rupi/gbr/ (in case of UK) folder. During that, Sygic changes names of POIs groups to something like 373735735810.rupi (example of something what had a name: pocketgps_uk_redlight) while icons are moved to /sdcard/Sygic/Res/icons/rupi with names like _pocketgpsworld_uk_redlight.bmp and _pocketgps_uk_redlight.bmp.3d.bmp pair.

I'll keep an eye on this and I'll try to look if that file with strange numers has been replaced or updated... It can be interesting from another point of view: if I have my own groups of POI, and if I'll add a new one - how the rupi file will be modified?
