I have upgraded my phone to a Nokia ASHA 300 and paired this with my TT GO730. On checking that the details had copied correctly I saw instead of the contacts names they were all alpha numeric like 5448G9367FD or such like. I have deleted the phone from TT and TT from the phone and tried again still no names. The actual phone numbers seem fine.
Any suggestions as to why?
Regards
Alan. |

Is there definitely a "G" in there? If it is numbers and the letters A-F then it is could be showing the hex codes for the letters instead of the letters themselves.
I've had a quick google but can't see anything regarding this. My BB Curve is paired with my Go730 and the names appear as expected so it would appear to be something with your new Nokia. I take it your old phone was OK?
Personally I would ask about this on Nokia forums as well where users may have had similar issues with names showing on hands-free devices. You could end up going back to the retailer to get a change under "not fit for purpose" laws. _________________ Gerry

Hi Gerry.
Problem fixed, unfortunately I do not know how, exactly!
I had copied my 4gb sdhc card to an 8gb sdhc card and put this back in the TT, then I discovered the problem above, I contacted TT Support and after 40 min of messing around trying to help me a lot of things were changed or updated. During this call I realised that the new map I had downloaded did not update the old one but ran along side in a separate folder (Probably why I needed a larger sd card!) Anyway I tried the switch maps icon and found my favorites, POI's etc were not there when using the new map but were ok on the old map, a search here made me look for the mapsettings.cfg file and I copied this to the new map folder.
I rebooted the TT and found favorites and POI's were back. I then checked the contacts and they had the names back
Where the contacts problem was or what I did to rectify it I am not sure, but all is well again.
Thanks for your help.
